Prince & Princess

Prince & Princess Pageant:

This pageant is open to SECOND GRADE girls & boys.

Contestants are required to perform a talent or skit OR they may create an “About Me” board to present to the judges.

The Prince and Princess Pageant will be held 2/29/2020 at 10:00am. Any contestant that has specific needs for their skit / talent is expected to contact the pageant coordinator before hand. The pageant will be held at the Chardon Heritage House.

Duties of the Prince & Princess:

The Prince and Princess will be required to attend Tappin’ Sunday in March 1st, as well as various other community events prior to, during and after the festival. A list of these activities will be passed out to all pageant participants the day of the queens rehearsal.

The Prince and Princess will need to attend the Queen’s pageant rehearsal which is April 21st at 5 PM and the Queen’s pageant April 22nd at 5 PM. They will be expected to do a second performance of their talent/skit/board during the pageant.

The Prince & Princess will be required to ride in both Saturday and Sunday parades and attend the Queen’s luncheon April 25th (information will be given regarding the luncheon at rehearsal).

Little Miss Maple

Little Miss Maple Contestants:

Open to Geauga County THIRD AND FOURTH Grade Girls. Contestants will be interviewed on February 29th at 12 PM at the Chardon Public Library.

Contestants will be required to create an "about me" board that will be used during their interviews only. Examples of items that can be on there are the contestants favorite animal, favorite foods, etc should be on their board. This is so judges can get to know the contestants better.


Contestants will be asked to go on stage and give an introduction of who they are. They should include things such as their name, age, the school they attend, and what grade they are in the night of the queen’s pageant.


All competing contestants will be asked to make a basket or find a business to donate a basket to our Chinese Auction for our pageant.

Little Miss Maple Duties:

The Little Miss court will need to attend the Queen’s pageant rehearsal which is April 21st at 5 PM and the Queen’s pageant April 22nd at 5 PM.

They will be
required to attend a list of activities during the festival which will be handed out the day of the Queen’s rehearsal pageant.

​They will be
required to ride in both Saturday and Sunday parades and attend the Queen’s luncheon April 25th (information will be given regarding the luncheon at rehearsal)

Young Miss Maple

Young Miss Maple Contestants:

Open to Geauga County FIFTH AND SIXTH Grade Girls. Contestants will be interviewed on February 29th at 12 PM at the Chardon Public library.

​Contestants will be asked a variety of questions during the interview. This process is to allow the judges to get to know the candidates better.
All competing contestants will be asked to make a basket or find a business to donate a basket to our Chinese Auction for our pageant.

The contestants will need an escort for the Queen’s pageant, they will go on stage introduce themselves, the introduction should include things such as their name, age, the school they attend, and what grade they are in. They should also introduce their escort to the audience and give a brief explanation of why they chose their escort.


The Young Miss court will need to attend the Queen’s pageant rehearsal which is April 21st at 5 PM and the Queen’s pageant April 22nd at 5 PM.

Junior Maple Festival Queen

Junior Queen Contestants

Open to Geauga County SEVENTH AND EIGHTH Grade Girls. Contestants will be interviewed on February 29th at 12PM at the Chardon Public library.

Contestants will be interviewed by a panel of judges. Contestants will be asked a variety of questions during the interview. This process is to allow the judges to get to know the candidates better.

All competing contestants will be asked to make a basket or find a business to donate a basket to our Chinese Auction for our pageant.

The contestants will need an escort for the Queen’s pageant, they will go on stage introduce themselves, the introduction should include things such as their name, age, the school they attend, and what grade they are in. They should also introduce their escort to the audience and give a brief explanation of why they chose their escort.

The Junior contestants will also be asked a spontaneous question from the panel of judges during the pageant.

The Junior Miss court will need to attend the Queen’s pageant rehearsal which is April 21st at 5 PM and the Queen’s pageant April 22nd at 5 PM.


Junior Queen Duties

required to attend a list of activities during the festival which will be handed out the day of the Queen’s rehearsal pageant.

FREQUENTLY Asked questions 

What time and where is the prince and princess pageant? ​
February 29th at 10AM at the Chardon Heritage House located on the square.
Do the girls for the little miss, young miss and junior miss need a formal dress?
Yes, little miss and young miss can wear easter style dresses, junior miss can wear a prom like dress.
Do the little miss, young miss and junior miss need to wear their dresses to the queens pageant?
Little miss and young miss should wear their dresses there, the junior contestants can bring their dress to change into.
What should the girls wear to interviews?
Just dress nice, example would be a nice pair of black pants and a nice top or even a dress.
How do you plan to incorporate the maple attire option?
This will be discussed the day of interviews after they take place and when parents come to pick up their child ​
HOW WILL The photogenic option  be judged?
Each division will have one person who will be awarded the photogenic award, the photo that is submitted with the application will be used by the judges.
What time and where are the Junior interviews?
February 29th @ 12pm at the Chardon Public Library  ​
Can parents attend the interviews? ​
No, parents can drop off their child at the time of interviews and pick them up after interviews are over. A large group message to the parents will let them know when interviews are over. There will be a brief meeting with parents after the interviews. If you would prefer to hang around up town while the interviews are going on you are more than welcome too.
If the prince and princess need specific things for their talent who do we contact?
Contact the Pageant coordinator if you have/need something specific for the pageant, a microphone will be provided. If you need simple things such as an aux cord for music please bring it the day of the pageant.
What should the contestants for the prince and princess wear?
They should wear something that goes along with their talent or just dress nice in a nice shirt with nice pants or even a dress .
