A Sweet Treat Competition

It's that time again for the annual Maple Syrup Contest. We are excited to continue our 3 Grade Classes.

The Maple Syrup Judging Event is a key highlight of the festival season where local producers showcase their finest syrups for evaluation. This competitive event celebrates the art of maple syrup production.

Event Highlights:
  • Judging Criteria: Expert judges assess entries based on color, clarity, flavor, and aroma, ensuring that only the best syrups are recognized.
  • Community Participation: Local syrup makers bring their best creations, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition among producers.
  • Educational Component: Attendees can learn about the grading process and the nuances of syrup production, enhancing their appreciation for this beloved local product.
  • Awards Ceremony: Top-rated syrups receive awards and recognition, encouraging continued excellence in syrup-making.

This event not only highlights the quality of local maple syrup but also strengthens community ties and promotes the region’s maple heritage.

All Geauga County Producers are eligible to enter 1 quart of Geauga County Maple Syrup in any or all of the 3 Classes:

Grade A: Golden Color and Delicate Taste
Grade A: Amber Color and Rich Taste
